| Né en 1969 à Genève. A étudié la physique théorique à l’École polytechnique de Lausanne et à Trinity College (Dublin). Il a également fait des études de lettres à l’université de Lausanne. Au théâtre, il met en scène plusieurs textes de Bertolt Brecht et Heiner Müller et travaille comme dramaturge. Il a été l’un des assistants de Matthias Langhoff. Depuis 2000 il se consacre totalement au cinéma documentaire. De 2006 à 2011 il est chargé de cours en cinéma à l’université de Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée. Depuis 2010 il enseigne en tant qu’intervenant à la fémis. Outre les films qu’il a réalisés, il a monté une vingtaine de longs métrages, essentiellement documentaires. | Born in 1969 in Geneva. After studying theoretical physics and literature he became a teaching assistant at the Université de Lausanne (Switzerland). He directed several theatrical productions of plays by Bertolt Brecht and Heiner Müller before turning to documentary cinema. In 1998 and 1999, he was assistant for the german director Matthias Langhoff. From 2006 to 2011, he has been teaching film studies at the Université de Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée. Since 2011, he teaches often at LA FEMIS Cinema School (Paris). He often works as film editor. He works and lives between France and Switzerland. |
