| Né en 1944 à Oran. Il apparaît pour la première fois à l'écran dans Les Camisards (1970) de René Allio. En 1976, il retrouve son pays d'origine pour La Question de Laurent Heynemann. En 1979, il incarne Jean-Jean dans La Dérobade. En 1979, on le voit dans Buffet froid. Deux ans plus tard débute sa fidèle collaboration avec Alexandre Arcardy. Sa participation à Astérix et Obélix : mission Cléopâtre (2000) lui permet de séduire les jeunes générations. L'année suivante, il joue dans Le Boulet, où son personnage est presque une caricature. En 2004, il est un doux père de famille, un pied noir, dans Au bout du monde à gauche, de l'israélien Avi Nesher. Il mène en parallèle une carrière théâtrale. | Born in Oran in 1944. His first appearance in a film was in Les Camisards (1970) by René Allio. He returned to the country of his birth in 1976 for La Question by Laurent Heynemann. In 1979, he played Jean-Jean in La Dérobade and was in Buffet froid in the same year. A long collaboration with Alexandre Arcady began two years later. His role in Astérix et Obélix : mission Cléopâtre (2000) endeared him to the younger generation. In the following year, he played what was practically a caricature role in Le Boulet. In 2004 he was a kind pied-noir father in Au bout du monde à gauche by the Israeli Avi Nesher. |
