| Né au Caire en 1978. Pendant ses études d'arts appliqués, il participe à plusieurs productions théâtrales et expositions universitaires. Il suit ensuite des cours de réalisation à l'Institut supérieur de cinéma en 2002. Il a travaillé comme assistant réalisateur pour de nombreux spots publicitaires en Egypte. Dans le cadre de ses études de cinéma, il réalise plusieurs courts métrages. En 2006, il signe son premier documentaire, Six filles, et sa première fiction courte, Quelle bonne journée !, sélectionné en compétition à Montpellier la même année. A la tombée du jour est sa dernière réalisation. | Born in Cairo in 1978. Graduated from the Applied Arts college and worked as a textile engineer in 2001. Participated in many theatrical productions at the university theatre as well as many collective art exhibitions. Then he joined the Higher Cinema Institute to study cinema directing in 2002. He worked as assistant director for many commercial feature films in Egypt. He directed several shorts as part of his training at the Cinema Institute. In 2006, he signed his first documentary Six Girls and his first short fiction, Rise and Shine, selected in competiton the same year in Montpellier. At Day's End is his latest film. |
