| Né d'un père algérien et d'une mère soudanaise, Rachid Djaïdani, tour à tour maçon, assistant régie, champion de boxe et acteur publie Boumkoeur son premier roman en 1999 suivront, Mon nerf et Viscéral. Parallèlement à son travail d'écrivain, il réalise plusieurs documentaires sélectionnés dans de nombreux festivals internationaux. Après neuf années de travail, il finalise Rengaine son premier long métrage, tourné sans aucun financement et présenté à la Quinzaine des Réalisateurs à Cannes en 2012. | Born of an Algerian father and a Sudanese mother, Rachid Djaïdani, mason, assistant studio manager, boxing champion and actor, published his first novel, 'Boumkoeur', in 1999. This was followed by 'Mon nerf' and 'Viscéral'. Simultaneously with his work as a writer, he directed several documentaries selected at numerous international festivals. After nine years of work, he finalised 'Rengaine', his first full-length film, made with no funding. It was presented at the Cannes Directors' Fortnight in 2012. |
