| Né en Égypte, il a fait des études de psychologie, littérature et communication de masse à l'American University au Caire jusqu'en 1984. Il est diplômé de Menlo College (Californie) en 1987. En 1988, il a créé la société Orka for Digital Special Effects puis en 1990 Elixir for Film Production and Distribution. En 1997, la société fut le première à introduire le montage offline pour le cinéma égyptien. En 2000, Elixir s'est agrandi en louant le mythique Studio Misr, devenu Studio Masr. Il est avant tout cinéaste et nous lui devons Hassan and Aziza: A State Security Case de 1999. Il a produit les documentaires These Girls de Tahani Rached (2006) et Have We Met Before de Hisham El Shafei (2008). Sa dernière production est Neighbors de Tahani Rached (2009). | Born in Egypt, he joins the American University, Cairo till 1984 where he majors in Psychology, Literature and Mass Communication. In 1997, his company is the first to introduce off-line editing in Egyptian cinema. In the year 2000, Elixir expands by landing lease on the mythical Studio Misr, became Studio Masr. He is first of all a filmmaker; we owe him Hassan and Aziza: A State Security Case in 1999. As a producer of documentaries, we owe him These Girls by Tahani Rached (2006), Have We Met Before by Hisham El Shafei (2008), and his latest production is Neighbors by Tahani Rached (2009). |
