| Né en 1975 à Zagreb, Croatie. À partir de 1993, il suit des études de réalisation pour le cinéma et la télévision à l'Académie d'arts dramatique de Zagreb. En 2000, il réalise son premier long métrage, The Cashier Wants to Go to the Seaside, qui remporte le prix du meilleur nouveau réalisateur croate. En 2002, il réalise le court métrage Drought, projeté lors de la Quinzaine des Réalisateurs à Cannes en 2003. Il a depuis réalisé plusieurs longs métrages: Fine Dead Girls (2002), 100 Minutes of Glory (2004) et Kino Lika, sélectionné et primé à Montpellier en 2008. Il travaille actuellement sur un nouveau long métrage, Mother of Asphalt. | Born in 1975, in Zagreb, Croatia. In 1993, he entered film and TV directing at Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb, Croatia. He worked as an assistant director on films of Zrinko Ogresta and Zoran Tadic. In 2000 he made his first feature The Cashier Wants to Go to the Seaside which won him an award for best Croatian newcomer director. In 2002, he directed the short film, Drought, shown at the Director's Fortnight in Cannes 2003. Then he directed several long features Fine Dead Girls (2002), 100 Minutes of Glory (2004) and Kino Lika (2008). He is preparing a new feature film, Mother of Asphalt. |
