| Né à Meknes (Maroc). Après des études à l’Institut d’art dramatique de Rabat, il met en scène de nombreuses pièces de théâtre. Il suit en 1995 une formation d’acteur au Conservatoire national supérieur d’art dramatique de Paris et réalise, en 1997, son premier court métrage, La Falaise, qui a reçu de nombreux prix dans les festivals. En 1999, il co-écrit Loin d’André Téchiné dans lequel il joue. En 2000, il réalise deux courts métrages : Le Mur et Trajets primé au festival de Venise. Après avoir tenu le rôle principal dans Le Cheval de vent (Daoud Aoulad Siad) en 2000, il réalise son premier long métrage en 2002, Mille mois. Puis il réalise WWW: What a Wonderful World en 2006 et Death for Sale en 2011. | Born in Meknès (Morocco) in 1967. He studied at the High Institute of Dramatic Arts and Cultural Animation in Rabat. Followed by a DEA in Theatre Studies at the university of Paris III and studied in the National Academy of Dramatic Art in Paris. He has taken part in numerous sreenwriting, theatrical and photographic workshops. He was stage manager for several plays and an actor in the theatre, as well as in Mektoub, a feature film by Nabil Ayouch. After The Cliff (1998), his first short film, he co-wrote the new film of André Téchiné, Loin. In 2000, he directed two short films, The Wall and Trajets and played the leading role in Le Cheval de vent (Daoud Aoulad Siad). He directed his first feature film in 2002, Mille mois. Then he directed WWW: What a Wonderful World in 2006 and Death for Sale in 2011. |
