| Né en 1963 à Barcelone. Diplômé en sciences sociales en 1989, il étudie le cinéma (réalisation et interprétation) au Centre d'études cinématographiques de Catalogne de 1991 à 1993. Acteur entre 1990 et 1992, il réalise son premier court métrage en 1994, Hora de cerrar. Il fonde la même année la société de production Salto de Eje. Son second court métrage Especial con luz (1994) sélectionné dans de nombreux festivals espagnols est programmé à la télévision nationale. En 1995, il réalise Ella está enfadada. Libre indirecto (1997) remporte le Prix Canal+ au festival de Montpellier. Il signe avec Nos hacemos falta (Tilt) son premier long métrage, puis revient en compétition à Montpellier avec un autre court, Máxima pena, qui gagne le Prix du Public en 2005. | Born in Barcelona in 1963. He studied at the Center for Cinematographic Studies of Catalunya from 1991 to 1993. In 1994 he made his first short film Closing Time. That same year he founded the production company Salto de Eje. His second short film Special when lit (1995) was shown in various spanish film festivals and acquired by the Spanish Television Network. In 1996 he directed She´s Angry. Indirect Free Kick (1997), another short film, won the Canal+ prize at the Montpellier Film Festival among others. It was also selected for numerous International Film Festivals. He signs with Tilt his first feature film in 2001. In 2005, his short film Maxima pena is selected in competition in Montpellier. |
