Biography |
| Né en 1960 à Brasov, Roumanie. Études économiques à Bucarest, puis de cinéma. Diplômé de l'Académie de théâtre et du film de Bucarest, et Master de cinéma et audiovisuel à la Sorbonne. Travaille ensuite pour la télévision avec ProTV, puis TVR et Antena 1. Directeur artistique à MTV Romania (2002-2004). Actuellement professeur dans la même université et directeur artistique de la chaîne d’information Realitatea TV. A réalisé six courts métrages de fiction (dont Le Cantique des cantiques, 1993 et Transfiguration, 1994, tous deux sélectionnés à Montpellier), et cinq documentaires pour la télévision. En 2004, il lance An Angel Hooked on Me, long métrage financé par MDV Film en collaboration avec le Centre national du cinéma et la Télévision roumaine. En 2011, il réalise La Chute, court métrage sélectionné à Montpellier. La Vache finlandaise est son dernier film court. | Born in 1960, in Brasov, Rumania. Economical studies in Bucharest followed by filmmaking studies. Graduated at the University of Drama and Film, Bucharest and Master in cinema and audiovisual at the Sorbonne. He worked in television with ProTV, then TVR and Antena 1. Creative Director with MTV Romania (2002-2004). He is now a professor at the same University and the Artistic Director of the Realitatea TV news station. Made 6 short fiction movies (among them Le Cantique des cantiques, 1993 and Transfiguration, 1994, both selected in Montpellier), and 5 documentaries for television. In 2004, he began Ingerul necesar (An Angel Hooked on Me), a production financed by MDV Film in collaboration with the National Cinematography Centre and the Romanian Television. In 2011, he directed The Breakdown, short film selected in Montpellier. The Finish Cow is his last short. |
