| Née à Tbilissi en 1955, elle entre à l'Institut de théâtre de Tblissi l'année où s'ouvre une section de cinéma. Celle-ci est dirigée par Tenguiz Abouladzé et Gogo Beridzé. Elle participe au tournage du film d'Abouladzé L'Arbre des désirs (1976) et ensuite au scénario de son film Le Repentir (1984), puis passe elle-même à la réalisation en 1985 avec le court métrage The Family. En 1994 elle signe un long métrage, La Berceuse. Elle a réalisé des courts métrages (A Big Boy and a Little Boy, Cadeau de Noël) et des documentaires (Georgia in the Rain Drop, Tenguiz Abuladze, the-tree-of-desire, The Knights of Georgian Chant). | Born in Tbilisi in 1955. She graduated in 1981 from the Georgian State Theatre and Cinema Institute as a cinema director. She worked with Tengiz Abuladze as a scriptwriter and music designer for the film Repentance. She won many international prizes for the film Lulluby. Other films: A big boy and a little boy, Family, Georgia in the Raindrop, Tengiz Abuladze-the tree of desire, Christmas Gift, The Knights of Georgian Chant. |
