| Né en 1933 dans l'actuelle Ukraine, Lucian Pintilie est diplômé de l'Institut d'art cinématographique et théâtral et, depuis 1990, directeur du Studio de création cinématographique du ministère de la Culture de Roumanie. Il travaille dans trois domaines de création : le théâtre, la télévision et le cinéma. Il a réalisé son premier film pour le cinéma en 1965 Dimanche à six heures qui remporta six prix internationaux. Sept autres films suivront dont Le Chêne (1991), Un été inoubliable (1993) et Terminus paradis qui a remporté le Grand Prix du jury de Venise en 1998. Niki et Flo, est sorti sur les écrans français en 2003. | Born in 1933 in today's Ukraine, Lucian Pintilie graduated from the Cinema and Theater Art Institute and is the head of the Cinema Creation Studio of the Romanian Culture Ministry since 1990. He works in three areas of creation: theater, television and cinema. He directed his first film in 1965 Sunday at Six which received six international awards. Seven other film will follow including The Oak (1991), An Unforgettable Summer (1993) and Next Stop Paradise which received the Grand Prize in Venice (1998). |
