| Née à Viareggio le 5 juin 1946. Elle débute au cinéma à l'âge de quinze ans dans le film de Mario Sequi, Jeunesse de nuit, et ans Il federale de Luciano Salce avec Ugo Tognazzi. Toujours en 1961, Pietro Germi lui proposose le rôle déterminant pour la suite de sa carrière, d'Angela dans le film Divorce à l'italienne avec Marcello Mastroianni. Sous la direction de Germi, elle tourne trois autres films : Séduite et abandonnée, Beaucoup trop pour un seul home et Alfredo, Alfredo avec Dustin Hoffman. Elle a travaillé avec les plus grands réalisateurs italiens dans des films marquants. Elle a tourné pour Bertolucci dans Partner, Le Conformiste, 1900, Beauté volée. Elle a joué dans Nous nous sommes tant aimés, La Terrasse, La Famille et Le Dîner d'Ettore Scola mais aussi pour Mario Monicelli, Luigi Comencini, Francesca Archibugi. Plus récemment, on l'a vue au cinéma dans Juste un baiser de Gabriele Muccino et La prima cosa bella de Paolo Virzi. Elle a également été dirigée par des metteurs en scène étrangers tels que Jean-Pierre Melville, Claude Chabrol, Bigas Luna et Mañoel de Oliveira. En 1992, elle débute au théâtre avec la pièce Le faremo tanto male de Pino Quartullo. En 2009, elle réalise son premier long métrage Christine, Cristina. She first worked in the cinema when she was 15, in Mario Sequi's Gioventù di notte and in Il federale by Luciano Salce with Ugo Tognazzi. In 1961 again, Pietro Germi offered her the part that was to be determinant for the rest of her career, that of Angela in Divorce, Italian style with Marcello Mastroianni. She was directed by Germi in three other films: Sedotta e Abbandonata, L'Immorale and Alfredo, Alfredo with Dustin Hoffman. She has worked in landmark films with the greatest Italian directors. She made Partner, The Conformist, 1900 and Stealing Beauty with Bertolucci. She acted in Ettore Scola's We All Loved Each Other So Much, La Terrazza, La Famiglia and La Cena and also worked with Mario Monicelli, Luigi Comencini and Francesca Archibugi. More recently, she has been in Kiss Me Again by Gabriele Muccino and La prima cosa bella by Paolo Virzi. She has also worked with foreign directors such as Jean-Pierre Melville, Claude Chabrol, Bigas Luna and Mañoel de Oliveira. In 1992, she made her theatre debut in Pino Quartullo's Le faremo tanto male. She directed her first feature film, Christine, Cristina in 2009. She was awarded the Golden Lion at the Mostra in Venice in 2006 for her career as a whole. |
