Né en 1941, Renzo Rossellini a tout d'abord collaboré avec son père, Roberto Rossellini, en tant qu'assistant téalisateur et, plus tard, en tant que producteur de ses films jusqu'en 1977. Il a ensuite fondé et dirigé Gaumont Italia, puis Artisti Associati Spa. Avec ces compagnies il a produit, financé et distribué plus d'une centaine de films dont La Cité des femmes (1980), Prova d'orchestra (1978) et Et vogue le navire... (1983) de Federico Fellini, Fanny et Alexandre (1982) d'Ingmar Bergman, La Nuit de Varennes (1982) de Ettore Scola, Le Marquis s'amuse (1981) et Mes chers amis (1975) de Mario Monicelli, Pipicacadodo (1979), le premier film de Roberto Benigni en tant qu'acteur, de Marco Ferreri, Le Dernier métro (1980) de François Truffaut, Querelle (1982) de Rainer Werner Fassbinder, La peau (1981) de Liliana Cavani, Nostalghia (1983) d'Andrei Tarkovsky, Les Trois frères (1995) et Carmen (1984) de Francesco Rosi, Sogni d'oro (1981) de Nanni Moretti, Don Giovanni (1979) de Joseph Losey, Cotton Club (1984) de Francis Ford Coppola, Ragtime (1981) de Milos Forman et Identification d'une femme (1982) de Michelangelo Antonioni. Actuellement, Renzo Rossellini enseigne la production et la mise en scène pour différents organismes de formation. Il est également le président de la Fondation Roberto Rossellini. Born in 1941, Renzo Rossellini first collaborated with his father, Roberto Rossellini, as an assistant director and, later, as his producer until 1977. (1983) by Federico Fellini, Fanny et Alexandre (1982) by Ingmar Bergman, La nuit de Varennes (1982) by Ettore Scola, Le marquis s'amuse (1981) and Mes chers amis (1975) by Mario Monicelli, Pipicacadodo (1979), the first film of Roberto Benigni as actor, by Marco Ferreri, Le dernier métro (1980) by François Truffaut, Querelle (1982) by Rainer Werner Fassbinder, La peau (1981) by Liliana Cavani, Nostalghia (1983) by Andrei Tarkovsky, Les trois frères (1995) and Carmen (1984) by Francesco Rosi, Sogni d'oro (1981) by Nanni Moretti, Il Don Giovanni (1979) by Joseph Losey, Cotton Club (1984) by Francis Ford Coppola, Ragtime (1981) by Milos Forman and Identification d'une femme (1982) by Michelangelo Antonioni. He was the assistant director and producer for his father, Roberto Rossellini, from 1957 to 1974. Actually, Renzo Rossellini teaches production and film direction at Escuela Internacional de Cine y TV in Cuba, and he also teaches at New University of Cinema and TV in Rome, at the Foundation for Development and Democracy in Santo Domingo. Renzo Rossellini is actually also the President of the Roberto Rossellini Foundation.
