| Né en 1932 à Bologne, Gianfranco Mingozzi y fait des études de droit. Il étudie ensuite au Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia de Rome et devient l'assistant réalisateur de Fellini pour La dolce vita et Boccaccio 70. En 1964, il travaille pour le comité national de cinématographie du Canada. Son premier film documentaire, La Taranta, a remporté le premier prix lors du Festival Dei Popoli de Florence en 1962. En 2004, il réalise le documentaire Maria Denis, la fiancée de l'Italie. | Gianfranco Mingozzi was born in 1932 in Bologna (Italy) where he graduated in the school of Law. In Rome he studied directing at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and worked as Fellini's s assistant director (La dolce vita, Boccaccio 70). In 1964 he was employed by the National film Board of Canada. His first film was the documentary La Taranta, which won the first prize at the "Festival dei popoli" (Florence 1962). |
