| Né à Zagreb en 1947. Il étudie la mise en scène à la FAMU, l'école de cinéma de Prague où il obtient son diplôme en même temps que Markovic, Karanovic, Paskaljevic. Il fait partie de cette génération de cinéastes, sortis de la FAMU, qui apparaît au début des années 70. A partir de 1971, Grlic réalise de nombreux documentaires et courts métrages de fiction ainsi que deux séries télévisées, Les Eloges et Contes impétueux. Il réalise son premier long métrage de fiction Coûte que coûte en 1974. En 1978, Bravo Maestro obtient le Grand Prix de la réalisation à Pula. Avec On n'aime qu'une fois, Grlic obtient en 1981 le Grand Prix du Festival de Valencia. Son quatrième film Les Dents de la vie (1984) remporte de nouveau le Grand Prix à Pula. En 1986, nouveaux lauriers pour son cinquième film Il faut être trois pour être heureux. En 2000, il réalise Joséphine et en 2006 Poste frontière sélectionné au Cinemed. | Born in Zagreb in 1947, he studied from the FAMU, the school of cinema of Prague where he graduated with Markovic, Karanovic and Paskaljevic. He is part of this generation of filmmakers, who all graduated from the FAMU, created in the early 70s. Starting 1971, he directed a lot of documentaries and short films, along with two television shows, The Praises and Impetuous Tales. He directed his first feature film At All Costs in 1974. In 1978, Bravo Maestro received the Grand Prize of directing at the Pula Film Festival. With You Only Love Once, Grlic received the Grand Prize at the 1981 Valencia Flm Festival. With his fourth feature film, The Teeth Of Life (1984) he received the Grand Prize of directing at the Pula Film Festival for the second time. In 1986, he won it again with It Takes Three To Be Happy, his fifth feature film. In 2000, he directed Josephine and Border Post in 2006, selected in Cinemed. |
